MISSION

Partnering for Youth Mental Health through Family-to-Family Education,
Support, and Advocacy Networks with schools and youth-serving organizations.

ASKING IS CARING

building communities together

We offer a 2-hour community conversation about mental health promotion and suicide prevention. It is led by trained parents/ caregivers with a passion for these issues, who share their life experiences. Asking is Caring can protect your family from mental health difficulties and teaches you how to support your child if they are struggling with identifiable risk factors and warning signs. Anyone who attends Asking is Caring can benefit from it. This training is appropriate for schools, sports teams, churches, and other spaces where parents/ caregivers gather.

The program was developed in collaboration with the University of Washington’s SMART Center to ensure it helps those who attend. There is clear evidence that Asking is Caring is worth your time to attend.

There are two ways to bring Asking is Caring to your community or school district: through a one-time training or through a training for trainers (T4T) event that is designed to build your school district’s capacity to offer Asking is Caring conversations in a sustainable way.
